Original very early 20th century large Vaux’s Maxim ale enamel sign.
Stamped with the makers name ‘ Hancor Mitcham’, Maxim Ales were first brewed in 1901.
It was to celebrate the return of the Maxim Gun detachment from the Boer war and was commanded by Colonel Ernest Vaux and is one of the oldest surviving beers in the UK.
A great piece of brewinana and a scarce item to the market.
it has retained good colour and gloss with enamel loss in places.
