Original rare Nustikon licence holder with a black bakelite backing and original patent number marked on it 277402.
The emblem raised on the back is that of Wakefield Castrol Oil and the garage name ‘Collier’s Garage’ Wansford.
When doing research I found that this garage stood along the great northern road in Wandsford next to the Haycock Hotel.
There is a black and white photo that shows the garage from a distance with their sign saying Collier’s Garage Automobilie Engineers & Agents. It is also advertising Clincher Tyres which found favour with motorist in the 1897-1925 period. The garage buildings were demolished in 1993.
This example is complete and in very good condition.
