This is a rare example and early 20th century Borough of St. Marylebone ‘Harley Street’ W1.enamel sign set in its original brass frame.
Harley Street is famous for the number of private specialist in medicine and surgery and was named after Thomas Harley who was lord mayor of London in 1767,however its connections also extend to notable occupants such as the victorian prime minister William Gladstone and the artist Joseph Mallod William Turner. These early signs are now being preserved and protected around London and this example is in high original untouched condition.
